Combined with unique bold colouring and a fine grain, Purple Heart is a world-wide favourite due to its high-bend composition and crushing strength. This hardwood features a gorgeous look in high demand by crafters of musical instruments, yet is durable enough to be commonly used in marine applications.

About Purple Heart Hardwood
Renowned as a very hard, dense and strong wood with excellent dimensional stability, it is extremely resistant to dry-wood termites and fungi.

Ranging from light violet to rich royal purple, this heartwood is beige when freshly cut and turns rapidly to violet upon exposure to light. The wood will eventually darken to a brownish colour with purple highlights, offering a medium range of colour variability mostly related to its aging process.

Purple Heart hardwood is recommended for wide use in floor coverings of residential homes with heavy human traffic. Not found on the common market, this eco-friendly product is a very unique item that is sure to be the centerpiece of any living space for many years.
